New Tune (Partial)

So on the drawing board is a new tune. 'Kyrie' I have decided to use all of those talented students at Rice to help me with recording this project. For free. By the time it is done it may sound nothing like this. But what the hey.

I love the Mass. It is ancient. It is an adoration of our Lord.

Thanks to Kat for the ijigg intro. Pretty stinkin' cool.

Great song!

You mention the Mass ... have you seen these videos of the Traditional Latin Mass?

Traditional Latin Mass for the Last Sunday after Pentecost

Traditional Votive Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Traditional Latin Mass: Feast of the Sacred Heart

Traditional Latin Low Mass for the Feast of the Transfiguration (with voice-over commentary from the writings of St. Eymard)

Beautiful music, don't you think? (well, except for that last one; low mass == no music)

By the way, I discovered Five Cent Stand by way of your Teresa video on YouTube! I soon afterward purchased the Bitter Kiss album via iTunes -- great stuff!

Something tells me that something interesting might happen if the music of FCS somehow got crossed with the Caribbean Christian music and inspiration of Fr. Richard Ho Lung & Friends; see for example, The Lord Almighty.

May Our Lord bless you and keep you.

Kat, Yes ma'am. I am trying to push the envelope here. This is one of the more conservative ones in draft. It's pretty fun. Thanks!

whosebob, Thanks for the links and for your encouragement. Someone else suggested I listen to that Carribean mass once. I liked it!

Joey, .... debt is spelled detb. Sheesh.

Excellent, friend. Keep at it. Please don't be afraid to write as long of a song as you feel. Some things, especially pertaining to worship, shouldn't be rushed.

By the way, I was the one suggesting the Caribbean Mass, but the one I was recommending is Glenn McClure's. It's freakin' sweet.

In fact... here is a sample. Scroll down to the clip labeled, "Kyrie from St. Francis in the Americas." Sweet.

Cach, it is going to probably clock in at about 7 minutes for this movement. The other half is on staff paper. My real player is acting up for some reason. I'll just go to itunes and buy it.

Seth,

Thanks for sharing the song. I liked it.

whosebob,

Thanks for sharing the links to the Tridentine mass. SPXers are a nutty bunch, but they sure have a beautiful mass. I teared up a bit hearing the Aperges Me and Kyrie chanted at a mass for the first time since my old parish in Cinci 3 years ago.

Seth, my young friend, the word you're looking for is the French word "voilĂ " meaning "presto!, behold, here is, here are, look."

All those years of high-school French paid off after all!

Oh, by the way, I like to song as well!

I clicked the play button, and it shows that it's "playing," but I hear nothing. I checked to make sure that my computer's sound is turned on, and sure enough it is. I can hear sound on other sites. Any ideas guys? Is there something I could set differently on the site? Could it be something to do with my firewall??

Sounds like a question for Kat...
