So I am sitting down to have some New Testament Grape Juice at our friends house last night and we flipped to the ABC news special about this charachter Adam who says that he heals people using telekenisis/quantum physics/magic to heal people. The weirdest part of the story is how he came about this power. Goes a little somethin' like this.
He has a dream. The spirit tells him to go to this island in the middle of a lake. His parents take him. On that island he meets up with a big black crow and goes into a kind of trance. This bird imparts upon him the secrets of science and he can now heal people.
I don't think I would have been so weirded out seeing this news special if I had not just been watching an hour or so of what looked to be the middle-east on the brink of WWIII.
Now don't get me wrong I don't think this charachter is the Anti-Christ (at least right now anyway) but I do believe that our friendly anti-christ will look and perform miracles that resemble something like this. Here is a part of that report.
"Adam says when he is trying to heal a person he sees a "quantum hologram" — a representation of the combined energy of everyone in the room.
"I'm not actually sure what it is I do. I go into this trance," says Adam. "I don't see anything else around me except for this person in front of me. And then I'm just changing these things, this image in front of me."
He says he uses his hands to fix breaks in the energy flow, which allows the healing to begin.
But Adam can't guarantee the success of his work.
Mavis Joy went to Adam to get healed and says her lymphadema did not get better. And another time, when "Primetime" cameras were rolling, Adam correctly diagnosed a woman as having minor back and shoulder problems but completely missed her bigger problem: breast cancer."

Well I know your not saying he is the antichrist, but I am confident he is not. FIRST of all.... he will not have to defend his miracles they will be clear, believable, and certain!

Hmmm. So I watched that little clip you had there, but I didn't see the show. Do they actually show him heal somebody -- anybody at all -- or does he just stand in the front of the room wiggling his hands and speaking about spooky energies and stuff?
I ask because it's very well documented in medical science that a patient's expectations have a lot of effect on his medical condition. If somebody thinks he is sick, he may or may not be, but for some reason he seems to be more prone to actually becoming sick (they call it psychosomatic or psychophysiologic illness).
Likewise, when somebody has lots of positive thoughts, and expectations of healing, it's amazing how strong the human body is, and how much healing can actually occur. Recipients of a placebo in a double blind study frequently report an improvement in their condition, which is also why double blind studies have to be conducted in medical science to determine if the medication is actually what is causing the improvement in a condition.
There have been many "faith healers" in the Christian church caught using cheap parlor tricks and psychological manipulation, and frankly you have to be a lot more skeptical than to simply believe the first guy who comes along talking about healing people using mental energies and mystical forces.
I know personally of two specific people, first hand eyewitnesses (not "my cousin knew a guy who heard about somebody...") to miraculous healing, and both times these were done in the name of Jesus, and were not on a stage, or in front of people for entertainment, and had nothing to do with positive thinking. So yes, I believe in miracles, and I believe in healing.
But I don't believe in Adam.

Something like that has crossed my mind as well. I just have a feeling that we won't recognize he/she/them. As lovable as Jimmy Stewart and as moral as Madonna.
Also, would not all those people living during WWII be completely justified in thinking that Hitler was not some kind of AntiChrist? I have actually thrown around this theory about Nietzsche that he IS the antichrist or at least his ideologies. He is in fact the most quoted atheist and his philosophies found in "also sprach" and "The Antichrist" (yes thats the name) have permeated much of the anti-god movements of the past 70 years. He also died of a head injury... insanity. And even though his was insane couldn't we view his rise of popularity after his death as a kind of resurrection?
anyway, just bigtime speculation there.
I've always thought that just the make up of the word Anti-Christ could turn out to be any person, thing, ideology, philosophy or thought that is in fact anti Christ. Against Christ's teachings, his life, his purpose. Sadly if we do actually define it as such, i feel that many Churches have become anti Christ. That's the saddest thing of all.

Technically, the Book of Revelation only talks about the Beast and the False Prophet, but not "the Antichrist" per se, even though the Beast is likely who most people refer to when they say "the Antichrist".
As far as I know, the only mention of "Antichrist" per se in the Bible is in 1 John and 2 John. Consider:
1 John 2:18
Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.
1 John 2:22
Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.
2 John 1:7
For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
So anyone who denies Jesus is the Christ, is the antichrist. And many "little Beasts" or "little antichrists" have appeared repeatedly in history, of whom Hitler would be an example.
But just to be clear, the Book of Revelation, 2 Thessalonians 2, Daniel, and things said by Jesus in the Gospels do foreshadow an actual individual person who sets himself up as god in the temple, and I do believe that there will be an actual man on earth who will show signs and wonders, and be given power for a period of time (well, for a time, times, and half a time, to quote Daniel -- i.e. 3 1/2 years).
